Convocation Ceremony Procedure (Tatacara Majlis)
Guests and graduates are advised to follow the ceremony procedure below to ensure the event runs smoothly.
- Arrive at the venue at least 1 hour before the ceremony starts for registration and seating.
- Graduates proceed to the designated assembly hall to line up according to faculty, while family guests proceed directly to the seating area.
- Guests are seated according to the section stated on their guest pass; please follow ushers' directions.
- The ceremony begins with the arrival of the officiating dignitaries, followed by the national anthem and doa recitation.
- Graduates will be called up by faculty to receive their scroll on stage.
- Guests are requested to remain seated and refrain from crossing the hall during the procession for safety and decorum.
- The ceremony ends with the departure of the officiating dignitaries, after which graduates and families may proceed for photography and gown return.
Family Parking Arrangements
Limited parking bays are reserved for graduates' families at the convocation venue. Please follow the tatacara (procedure) below to park smoothly and avoid congestion.
- Enter through the designated Family Guest Gate and show your guest pass or graduate's name to the marshal on duty.
- Proceed to the assigned family parking zone as directed by the parking marshal — do not park at staff or VIP bays.
- Display your parking coupon or e-parking QR code on the dashboard, if issued during registration.
- Park within marked bays only; overflow parking will be redirected to the secondary field/lot with a shuttle service to the main hall.
- Keep your parking ticket/coupon safe — it is required for exit validation.
- Allow extra time on the ceremony day as bays are limited and filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
Gown Return Procedure
Graduates are required to return their convocation gown after the ceremony. Family members assisting a graduate may also refer to the steps below.
- Proceed to the Gown Return Counter immediately after the ceremony ends and photo sessions are complete.
- Present your gown collection receipt / matric card for verification at the counter.
- Ensure the jubah (gown, sash, and cap/mortarboard) is clean and undamaged before returning it.
- Hand over the complete set to the counter staff for inspection and checklist confirmation.
- Collect your return acknowledgement slip as proof of return.
- Gowns must be returned on the same day of the ceremony — late or unreturned gowns may be subject to a replacement fee as per university policy.
